19 Court Artisan Foods is a dream more than two decades in the making. “The Hurrier I go, the Behinder I get” a mantra of Chef Rahsaan encompasses his treatment of food while making every trip something to write home about
Born in Jersey City NJ, Rahsaan began his career in 1995 externing for executive dining and graduating NY restaurant School. Then, while at Dakota Restaurant on the Upper East Side, Chef Rahsaan was quickly named to executive chef, and stayed there for 4yrs. He left to work with Chef Herb Wilson opening Jacks Fifth. While Chef Wilson mentored Rahsaan, at Wilson’s suggestion, Rahsaan would continue to grow and moved on to work with John Tesar to open Vine in the Wall Street district.
Rahsaan has been many things but always passionate about food; a food purchaser for NYS, personal Chef for HBO Heavyweight Boxer Michael Grant, running a catering business as well working for foreign diplomats, royalty and celebrities. Now, partnering with his wife Shelly, the new fast casual 19 Court is his fulfillment of over 2 decades of hard work and dedication. Rahsaan and Shelly have 4 children and enjoy traveling the world.
Chef Eric, from the town of Fujan, brings an artistic flair not seen before in Westchester. Chef Eric’s experience recently at the notable New York’s Nobu as well as Pink Sake in Westport CT. Chef Eric is all about the ‘height’ of food, both literally and figuratively. Building towers of the freshest fish and the finest pairing of ingredients, Eric’s intentions are to change the way you feel about Sushi and ‘change your mind about food'.’
Eric resides in New York City with his lovely wife and two children. With an impressive garden of his own, Chef Eric ensures that there is no limit to the results you can get when you literally love your food.
Shelly White is Chef Rahsaan’s biggest fan. Not because he is her husband; not because this is their first owned and operated business together; and not because this is their 24th year together and 16th year of marriage. Soley because, as she says, “what he does with food and flavor is nothing short of amazing!” Shelly has no formal ties to culinary but a history of ties to business. Currently working in CT, she is also the business behind the business of 19 Court. Temple University for Business and Berkeley College of Music for Audio Engineering, no one is more excited about live Jazz on the weekends to the City of White Plains.
“Those Whites” love to travel and food plays a critical part of where they land on the map for family vacations. Rahsaan and Shelly have 4 children who keep them both grounded and busy; Sian, Jordan, Ryan and Daniel.
